Are you a student, young or mid-career professional seeking to gain deeper insights from professionals in international affairs careers? If so, apply to the CIC’s 2026-2027 Mentorship Program today!

By popular demand, the Canadian International Council (CIC) Mentorship Program is back for a 2026-2027 edition. In partnership with Marvin Hough and the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO), the Program will connect students and young professionals with academics, professionals, and other experts in the field of international affairs through one-on-one mentoring. Interested in registering as a mentor or mentee?

Become a member of the CIC* and fill out the online form to apply!

Applications deadline TBA.

Please fill out the form below to apply to the Canadian International Council (NCB)’s Mentorship Program. The form is divided into three sections: general, for mentors, and for mentees. Based on the role you seek to apply for (i.e. mentor, mentee, or both), you will be asked to fill in one or more sections.

Please note that we will prioritize eligible applications for mentees who have not yet participated in the program (as outlined on the website)  and are currently  CIC or PAFSO members located in the Ottawa/Waterloo/Kingston region. Given the high volume of interest in this program, we also ask that all successful applicants (particularly those located in the Ottawa region) participate to the extent possible in the various zoom and in-person events taking place throughout the program which runs from the fall of 2026 to the spring/summer of 2027.

We encourage all non-members to join the CIC as this is a great way to connect with other members and grow your network. If you’re already a CIC member and not in the Ottawa/Waterloo/Kingston area, we encourage you to reach out to your local branch to inquire about local mentorship opportunities.

* To participate in the Program, PAFSO or CIC membership (National Capital – Ottawa or Waterloo branches) is required.
