CIC-Saskatoon: WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM: A Historical Review of the Iranian Women’s Movements (1800’s to today)
We review key important historical events that led women of Iran to the “women, life, freedom” movement and how it is impacting similar movements in the region. Join in as we bring to light many of the untold stories that are a credit to human resiliency and vitality in the face of repression. CIC Saskatoon: Japan’s Relations with North Korea and its Implications on Japanese National Security
This talk provides a historical overview of Japan-North Korea interactions on both the social and political levels, highlighting the fact that North Korea-related issues have been embedded in Japanese domestic politics throughout the postwar period. This historical trajectory has led to the current Japanese reaction to North Korean security threats, and the unlikeliness of improved bilateral relations in the foreseeable future.
