February 21 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm CST

CIC Saskatoon Presents, by Zoom, Lee Reaney on “Ukraine, Life during Wartime: The View from the Ground”

Wednesday, Feb 21, 2024 – 8 pm Saskatoon time (9 pm Eastern)

As we approach the anniversary of the start of Russia’s 2022 campaign of aggression into Ukraine, many of us have questions of “how are things going for Ukrainians”?

Join us as our friend, journalist Lee Reaney, who has reported to us at the start of Russia’s invasion of Crimea in 2014 and again just before 2022, returns to us by Zoom to talk about the state of living within the borders of Ukraine, his movements professionally and personally over the past two years, and hope for the future in this terrible struggle.

Lee Reaney, a product of the political studies program of the University of Saskatchewan, has lived in Ukraine for the lion’s share of ten years. Lee is the Editor of the award-winning news magazine Lviv Today. He covers business, sports, culture, and current events for some of Central Europe’s leading English-language journals, including New Eastern Europe, Hromadske International, The Budapest Times, and the Kyiv Post.

A renowned sports journalist, he provides regular coverage to organizations such as the International Paralympic Committee and World Taekwondo.

Based in Ukraine, he provides regular on-the-ground reporting of the War in Ukraine for TV and radio stations worldwide, including Great Britain’s LBC News and Turkey’s TRT World.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
