Young Professionals Network: Careers In International Development Panel

Are you interested in a career in international development but are not sure where to start? Join the CIC Young Professionals Network on January 25th to gain insights and advice from established professionals in their fields.  The event will consist of an opportunity to speak directly to guests and ask your questions.

Speakers include:

Simon Chorley is the International Programs Manager at UNICEF Canada.  He has almost 15 years of experience in human rights and international development, having previously worked for an international anti-human trafficking organization in the UK. He was born in England, grew up in East Africa, and currently lives in Ontario with his wife and two children.

Kyle Matthews is the Executive Director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) at Concordia University. He previously worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, where he was posted to the Southern Caucasus (Tbilisi), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa) and Switzerland (Geneva). Prior to that he worked for CARE Canada in Albania and later at its headquarters in Ottawa, where he managed various humanitarian response initiatives and peace-building projects in Afghanistan, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

Hayley Mundeva is a social entrepreneur and the Founder of ThriveHire. Before venturing into the startup space, Hayley worked for 4 years on Global Health research projects in Tanzania, Malawi and Ethiopia. She has 2 degrees in Global Health and is a certified trainer in social entrepreneurship. Hayley is currently based in Kigali, Rwanda where she is spearheading partnerships with both local and international organizations.
