September 19, 2019 @ 7:00 pm EDT
Free
The Canadian International Council (Nipissing District Branch) is pleased to announce its first guest speaker as part of the 2019-2020 guest speaker series. Daniel Pike is an independent wildlife consultant based in North Bay, with substantial international experience overseeing programs of research, and associated surveys, related to the distribution and abundance of whale populations. Daniel will share his unique knowledge and insights regarding the largest, and (what some might say) one of the most elusive mammals on planet earth!
A proud conservationist, Daniel will reference some of the issues, challenges, and solutions being implemented to help sustain whale populations for future generations. This is a FREE EVENT and is OPEN to the GENERAL PUBLIC. Please refer to CIC Nipissing
District Branch’s Facebook Page for further details HERE.

Throughout his career, Daniel has provided expert guidance and leadership to both Canadian and international institutions, and has spent a large amount of time studying the habits, behaviours, and population numbers of whale species in remote parts of the High Arctic, Arctic Canada, Nunavut, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Antarctica. Presently his work involves mainly survey design and analysis, as well as scientific reporting and editing, and finally serving on numerous scientific working groups on marine mammals. Mr. Pike has a wife and two adult children and has lived in North Bay since 2007.
