EVENT DESCRIPTION
The 2025 G20 Summit in South Africa represents a landmark moment for global economic and political cooperation. As the first G20 Summit chaired by an African nation, it highlights the growing importance of inclusive global governance and the role of Africa and the emerging economies in shaping international policy priorities.
In the wake of this significant gathering, the Africa Study Group is convening a Post-G20 Discussion to reflect on the Summit’s key outcomes and their implications for Canada, Africa, and the broader international community.
This event aims to provide a space for informed, policy-relevant dialogue on: the main takeaways from the 2025 G20 Summit in South Africa, the evolving role of the G20 in promoting sustainable, inclusive growth, the strategies for translating G20 commitments into concrete national and regional actions, and opportunities for Canada and African partners to advance shared global priorities.
