2024 has been a busy year for elections in nations around the world – with results some depressing, some hopeful.
Saskatoon’s own Lee Reaney and Marcus Abrametz spent the last four months observing Georgia’s critical parliamentary elections, held on October 26 with some rather disturbing results. Hear about what they saw, discover how the ruling Georgian Dream party managed to win the election, and discuss what comes next for Georgia.
Reaney and Abrametz have each developed a great deal of experience on the ground, having observed elections in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. With recent elections in Georgia and Moldova, and with Ukraine’s elections being postponed until after the war, some additional insights on the regions will be dispensed during the question and answer portion of the event.
