CIC Winnipeg: Russia’s War in Ukraine: Context and Canada’s Response

What: Join us for a discussion about community mobilisation in Canada, Manitoba and Winnipeg to support Ukraine. Our speakers will help us unpack the context of the war and its many competing narratives, and will help us understand the scope and relevance of the response of Canadians to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

We are pleased to present two distinguished members of the Ukrainian community in Winnipeg who have played significant roles in the Canadian response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Yuliia Ivaniuk is the Coordinator of the Centre for Ukrainian Canadian Studies and the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Studies Program at the University of Winnipeg.
Nick Krawetz has travelled extensively in Ukraine and participated six times in Election Observation missions in Ukraine on behalf of the Government of Canada.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase before, during and after the event.
