CIC Victoria: Politics in the Pub: Cyber Threats and Countermeasures

Robert W. (Bob) Gordon is the Executive Director, Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX), where he has organizational responsibility to deliver cyber threat information services and lead all cyber intelligence engagements and research activities. Before leading CCTX, he served as Director, Global Cyber Security at CGI, having enjoyed a long and successful career in the Federal Government with Public Safety Canada, the Communications Security Establishment, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Besides holding several senior executive positions, including at the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister level he was also the architect of Canada’s first Cyber Security Strategy. Bob has also provided operational leadership in investigating and analyzing the full range of threats to the security of Canada, which included leading the CSIS Counter Terrorism program. Bob is also a member of the Board of Directors for Quantum Safe Canada.
CCTX, a non-governmental organization, serves as a vital link between private and public sector agencies and corporations. It supports the sharing and analytics of cyber threat information across sectors and with other sharing hubs to help protect Canadian businesses, governments and consumers, and to strengthen Canada’s economic prosperity.
