The global rules-based international order is facing many challenges. The 1997 Ottawa Treaty banning landmines is under threat. For reasons having to do with the war in Ukraine, several countries are withdrawing from the Treaty. However, around the world, the next generation is stepping up to finish the job of ridding the world from the scourge of landmines and the devastation they create. Join CIC Victoria and Mines Action Canada to learn more about the current state of the Ottawa Treaty and also meet three inspiring young women who are working hard to turn the promise of the Ottawa Treaty into reality despite conflict, aid cuts and shifting geopolitics.
