CIC Victoria: Canadians Going Global

Don’t miss this great upcoming student career event event! Our panelists will be discussing their careers so far and lessons learned.
Panelists include:
Sandra Leduc – Sandra currently serves as General Counsel with the Department of Justice Canada where she has helped lead the Department’s efforts to introduce legislation to implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People. Sarah was previously with Global Affairs Canada and served in our Embassy in Afghanistan. Sandra also climbed Mount Everest in May 2012 and completed both versions of the Seven Summits – the highest mountain on every continent – in December 2014, becoming the 3rd Canadian woman to do so.
Erin Hunt – Erin is the Program Manager at Mines Action Canada. She has been conducting public education on the Ottawa Treaty banning landmines since 2003 and she has worked in humanitarian disarmament, in a variety of capacities, since 2006.
Jesse Baltutis – Jesse is currently a Senior Policy Analyst at the Climate Action Secretariat at the B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. Prior to relocating to B.C., Jesse spent three years working, studying, and volunteering abroad in the United Kingdom, Kenya, and Palestine.
Sarah Broitman – Sarah is a UVic political science graduate, recently obtained her MA in global studies at McMaster University and will soon be starting as a Junior Policy Analyst with the National Security Policy Directorate with Public Safety Canada in Ottawa.
