Description: CIC Vancouver will host a panel as a part of the Foreign Policy by Canadians Project on The Future of the Global Economy. More specifically, we are looking to focus on the future of AI and how it will impact Canada’s economy. We would also like to look at shifts in supply chains as we make advances in technology.

Marcus Wong: President of the Canadian International Council – Vancouver

Miklós Gábor Dietz: Senior Partner and the Office Lead for McKinsey & Company’s Vancouver Office
Miklós Gábor Dietz is currently a Senior Partner at Vancouver centred McKinsey & Company. Over the course of his career, Miklós has overseen more than 400 projects, spanning over 40 countries. As Senior Partner, he helps financial services companies and other organizations harness digital technology and stay ahead of emerging trends. With a Masters in finance (MPhil in Finance) from the University of Cambridge, he also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), member of the CFA Organization and founding member of the Hungarian Society of Investment Professionals. Additionally, in 2008, Miklós was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Republic, for the support to the Prime Minister in managing the global financial crisis.

Marlene Koffi: Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics
Marlène Koffi’s research centers around innovations in technology and inequality. Having earned her Ph.D. at the University of Montreal, she is interested in discovering new ways to apply deep learning and artificial intelligence techniques in the realm of economics and public policy. Currently, Marlène is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto’s Department of Economics.

Ramy Nassar: Head of Research Innovation at Mattel Inc
Ramy is the founder of 1000 Days Out and author of the upcoming AI Product Design Handbook. With a background in computer engineering and Design Thinking, Ramy has straddled technical, design, and business-oriented roles, for clients including Cadillac Fairview, Apple, Air Canada, Facebook, New Balance, Rogers and CIBC. Ramy teaches Design Thinking at McMaster University and in the Master’s of Engineering, Innovation & Entrepreneurship program at Ryerson University. Ramy is a regular speaker at international events including World Usability Congress, IxDA, FITC, AI Everything, Machine Learning Exchange, AI Business Summit and World Mobile Congress.
