CIC Toronto: Glendon Global Debate: Green New Deal
March 4, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm EST

We are living in a time of crisis and we need bold ideas for real change. A Green New Deal provides a pathway for addressing the greatest crisis of our time, climate change, while also ensuring greater equality and a reduction in poverty through massive public investment in clean energy and good jobs.
Today’s proposals for a Green New Deal are transformational and focus on environmental and social justice. They call for investments in technology and infrastructure, but also highlight the structural inequality that is endemic in the current economic system and seek to address it.
How can we ensure a Green New Deal that is justice-oriented and leads to social and economic transformation? Join the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs and the School of Environmental Studies at Queen’s University to discuss ideas for a transformative vision of a Green New Deal.
