CIC Saskatoon: WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM: A Historical Review of the Iranian Women’s Movements (1800’s to today)

September 15, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm CST

Free

Live from the Goodspeed Theatre (Room 18) in the celebrated Edwards School of Business, CIC-Saskatoon is pleased to partner with Paivand and the University of Saskatchewan community to bring you this event.

On the eve of the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death, this mini-conference features speakers, interviews and stories focusing on the history of feminist movements in Iran.

Watch as we review key important historical events that led women of Iran to the “women, life, freedom” movement and how it is impacting similar movements in the region. Join in as we bring to light many of the untold stories that are a credit to human resiliency and vitality in the face of repression.

CIC-Saskatoon is honoured to help make this event possible through  cooperation with the Department of Political Studies and major sponsors the Gender Studies Group at the U of S, and  Paivand – Iranian Canadian Society for Cultural Dialogue Inc., who are driving this event.

Come join us in person. Or, if you can’t make it to Saskatoon, register for the Zoom feed

( https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_0oNfUpt6SBi6715bH4Ql6Q )  which will run for the entire event.
