CIC Saskatoon: Operation CARIBBE: Reservists Against International Terrorism
February 16, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm EST

The Royal Canadian Navy is very much a different force then the United States Coast Guard. How do you get people and equipment from the two forces to work together to effectively combat global terrorism?
[1] You embark on Operation CARIBBE – a multinational force aimed at putting a stop to international trafficking, and in so doing cutting off funds to international terrorism.
[2] You bring in Kingston class Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels.
[3] And you put talented reservists like Lieutenant Commander Lucas Kenward to work out the protocols to make these vessels work effectively with the US Coast Guard and other forces to seize tonnes of illegal street drugs and other contraband.
The CIC is honoured to host the highly entertaining Lieutenant Colonel Lucas Kenward as he reveals to us the successful role of the Canadian Armed Forces in adapting our equipment for new challenges, and our forces for greater flexibility in international operations – a good news story about Canada’s place in the world. As a reservist, LCdr Kenward brings to us a deeper understanding of the many critical roles served by reservists in the Canadian Armed Forces.
