CIC Saskatoon: Book Signing Event with Hugh Segal
March 12, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

***This is a free event, open to the public, in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. ***
Tell all your friends! Hugh Segal is coming to town!
The Saskatoon branch of the Canadian International Council is pleased to partner with Indigo to present to the Saskatoon audience an opportunity to meet with and hear stories from Hugh Segal as he signs copies of his recent book, “Two Freedoms. Canada’s Global Future” (from Dundurn Press. 228pp. ISBN 978-1-45973-445-6)
Hugh Segal, Master of Massey College in Toronto, has held many roles that intertwine him with Canada’s recent history. Mr. Segal was an aide to federal Progressive Conservative Leader of the Opposition Robert Stanfield in the early 1970s; was part of the Ontario delegation and played a role in the patriation of the British North America Act and creating the Charter of Rights and Freedoms; served as Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and was part of the discussions that led to NAFTA; and represented Canadians as a member of the House of Senate from 2005 to 2014. Mr. Segal has served the Commonwealth as a member of the Commonwealth Eminent Persons Group, and served as special envoy to the Commonwealth.
Mr. Segal continues to be an important part of the Canadian International Council, having served as executive vice chair and, for a time, served in the role of national president after Douglas Goold.
In an advance celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, this gathering is a great chance to meet Mr. Segal, hear some of his stories, and come away with a copy of his book.
We hope you can join us.
