CIC Saskatoon: Behind the Scenes: The War Memorials at Vimy Ridge and Beaumont Hamel

May 31, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm CST

Description

What is it like to visit the great memorials to Canadian soldiers who fought in Europe during the World Wars? And what is it like to be working behind the scenes at these monuments?

Join us as U of S graduate Emily Arthur discusses the significance of the Vimy Ridge and the Beaumont Hamel war memorials of World War One, and provides stories from her experiences of working at the two sites as an employee of Veterans Affairs Canada.

Come early and take part in the light reception (starts at 6:30 pm), a good chance to talk with the speaker before the talk.

Itinerary:
6:30 p.m. Light reception
7:00 p.m. Public presentation
