CIC Prince George: U.S. Debt and its Global Implications

March 19, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm PDT

As national debts around the world surge to historic new highs, the U.S. debt attracts special attention because of the critical role it plays in the global economy. With the U.S. debt projected to grow exponentially over the foreseeable future and no end in sight to deficit spending, what would a significant shock to our current system look like? Such as a rise in interest rates. Could inflation surge out of control? And what could these shocks do to an economy like Canada’s that is so tightly bound to the United States? Join us March 19 at 12:00 pm (Pacific Time) to learn what this learned panel thinks about the future implications of U.S. debt on the global economy, and what we as Canadians should do to prepare for it.
