CIC PPT Series: Laszlo Sarkany (CIC-Waterloo) – From ESL to Ph.D

May 31 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm CST

Free

CIC-Saskatoon invites you to join us by computer for the next entry in our CIC PPT series, in which we celebrate the great talents that reside in each of our 18 branches across Canada (and to show you some of the great people you are connected to by virtue of your membership in the Canadian International Council).

Come listen to incredible insights on the International Criminal Court and on the struggle for international justice as our friend Laszlo Sarkany, president of CIC-Waterloo, speaks on ‘From ESL (English as a Second Language) to a Ph.D.’  Laszlo combines events from his life, as his family adjusted to resettling in Canada, and his view on public service to tell the story of his journeys into international justice. Laszlo always tells a great story, and this talk is one not to miss.

About our speaker:

Well-respected in the fields of international justice, Dr. Sarkany has had an impressive career in research and teaching at a number of locations, including Huron University College, King’s University College, Western University and University of Waterloo.  He is freshly back to Canada after leading a group of students on an experiential learning tour of Rwanda. Laszlo’s commitment to community service includes his strong leadership in the YMCA and as president of CIC-Waterloo.
