The Asia-Pacific Study Group (APSG) presents…

MONGOLIA-CANADA PARTNERSHIP IN NORTHEAST ASIA AND BEYOND

21 February 2024, 5:30 pm EST

Suite 200 at uOttawa Telfer Building, 99 Bank Street Ottawa, ON K1P 5A3

OVERVIEW

The Asia-Pacific Study Group is pleased to present “Mongolia, Canada’s Strategic Partner in North East Asia”. The year 2023 represented the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, and since Mongolia’s transition to a multi-party parliamentary democracy in 1990, the country has emerged as a strategic – if perhaps little-recognized – ally of Canadian values and interests in economic, rule-of-law and regional security terms.

Join us for a captivating fireside chat with H.E. Sarantogos Erdenetsogt, Ambassador of Mongolia to Canada, Gregory Goldhawk, Former Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia, and Jonathan Berkshire Miller, Senior Fellow and Director of Foreign Affairs, National Defence, and National Security at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute. Open to students, business professionals, the diplomatic community, young professionals, and the general public, this conversation promises to be both engaging and enlightening.
