CIC National Capital (Ottawa): Politics @ the Pub – Terrorism: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Canada has experienced terrorism since confederation and will continue to deal with violent extremism resulting in death and injury. Join the CIC National Capital Branch in welcoming Phil Gurski, author and former CSIS analyst, to discuss Canada’s modern challenges with extremism and terror.
Phil Gurski is the Director of Security, Economics and Technology at the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute and a 30-year intelligence veteran at the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).
Dan Stanton will moderate the event. He served for thirty-two years with CSIS, including twelve years as an executive manager in operations. Mr. Stanton’s expertise stems from a lengthy career in counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence collection operations in three field offices and headquarters, as well as assignments overseas.
