CIC Halifax: Clinton or Trump? The State of the U.S. Election and the Aftermath for Canada

If anyone can explain the 2016 U.S. Election, it is Chris Sands. He will provide an analysis of:

. How we arrived at today’s dynamic Trump/Clinton race,
. What to expect and how the election will affect Canada.

Speaker’s Biography
Our guest speaker: Christopher Sands, senior research professor and director of the Center for Canadian Studies at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C., is an expert on Canada-U.S. relations.

Dr. Sands is also the fifth G. Robert Ross Distinguished Visiting Professor in the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington and is a member of the advisory boards of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Ottawa and of the Canada–United States Law Institute.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, he earned his B.A. from Macalester College and an MA and Ph.D from Johns Hopkins University. He was a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University.
