CIC Halifax: Annual Dinner, AGM & China – Past, Present and Future

January 18, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm EST

The CIC HFX Branch presents our distinguished guest Dr. Colin Dodds, speaking on China – Past, Present and Future. With the election of Donald Trump as US President, the ongoing structural changes in the Chinese economy and China’s emerging role in the global economy, Sino-US relations are in for a major reset: perhaps the most significant in the last 40 years. Dr. Dodds, a China watcher and participant for over 30 years, will provide his perspective on China – from the 1980s to today – with some pointers for what augurs to be at least an interesting but more importantly, a potentially dangerous future for the financial/monetary and geopolitical world order.

Speaker’s Biography
Dr. Colin Dodds is President and Vice Chancellor Emeritus of Saint Mary’s University and Professor of Finance, Sobey School of Business. He serves as a Director of the Bank of Canada and sits on the Board of World University Services Canada and Board of the Asia Pacific Foundation.
