CIC Edmonton: So you don’t see Traffic Lights? Acknowledgment, Awareness & Action in Anti-Racism

April 27 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm MDT

On Thursday April 27 2023, CIC Edmonton will be hosting a workshop-based training by CIC’s Edmonton Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Aneesha Ugwoke.

We will focus on how racism manifests in society through individual bias, discrimination, and systemic inequity. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in discussions on day-to-day false perceptions and ideologies that perpetuate white privilege. The workshop will debunk the “I’m not a racist” claim, provide tools to challenge those who have biases with confidence, and provide social best practices that set us up for success to seek opportunities for justice and equity for those who belong to the BIPOC communities.

Facilitated by Aneesha Ugwoke, an anti-racism specialist, leader, and DEI author and speaker.
