CIC Edmonton: Oil and World Politics with John Foster

John Foster, international oil economist, talks about “the petroleum game” and the geopolitics of oil in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine and Venezuela, as well as the Alberta oil sands and more.
Come speak with John Foster at CIC Edmonton’s National Speaker Series event in the Edmonton Room at the Hotel Macdonald.
Foster will elaborate on the rivalries among world powers and regional countries based on his 40 years of experience as an oil economist working and travelling in over 30 countries. He has held positions at the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, Petro-Canada and the BP group.
Coffee and tea service will be provided. Seating is very limited.

Speaker’s Biography
John Foster is an international oil economist who has witnessed the geopolitics of petroleum in more than 30 countries. His experience includes positions with the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, BP group and Petro-Canada in three capital cities (London, Washington DC, Ottawa). He grew up in London, graduating in economics and law from the University of Cambridge. His is the author of Oil and World Politics: The real story of today’s conflict zones – Iraq, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Ukraine and more.
