CIC Edmonton: Annual Board Meeting and Elections

– be CIC members in good standing.
– organize, or co-organize, at least two CIC Edmonton events.
– attend CIC Edmonton board meetings as needed.
-provide support where needed.
Positions:
President —acts as focal of leadership for CIC Edmonton; maintains positive relationships on the board as well as other CIC branches; participates in monthly pan-Canadian CIC Branch President meetings; coordinates and leads the activities of CIC Edmonton; works with the Secretary to organize CIC Edmonton board meetings; conducts strategic planning and visioning activities as required.
Vice-President—assists the President in leading CIC Edmonton; acts as secondary focal point of leadership when President is unable or unavailable to carry out duties.
Secretary — manages internal documents; responsible for organizing executive meetings and agenda; compiles meeting minutes during executive meetings; sends out board meeting invites and meeting minutes.
Treasurer — develops and tracks board annual budget; responsible for developing financial statement at the end of the CIC year; issue cheques; collect receipts; develops financial reports as required by the CIC. Must be willing to get banking access.
Communications Director — responsible for CIC Edmonton social media pages, including on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; creates posts for events or CIC Edmonton activities; responsible for monthly newsletter; coordinates with CIC HQ and other CIC branches in developing web content.
Diversity and Inclusion Director — responsible for creating and implementing plans to promote diversity within CIC Edmonton. A significant part of the role is to promote and develop events and initiatives to enhance members’ understanding on inclusion issues as well as: assist other executive members in ensuring the content published or created by CIC Edmonton is done so through a diversity lens; create/lead events related to diversity and inclusion; and oversee current, ongoing or expected initiatives to ensure it aligns with diversity and inclusion values.
Student Outreach Director — works to promote CIC Edmonton membership and initiatives to students in Edmonton, such as by promoting CIC events at Edmonton-based universities; encourage student CIC membership; create connections and facilitate collaboration with university staff, administration, and students.
Director(s) at Large — responsible for organizing or co-organizing at least two CIC Edmonton events; support branch functions by participating in board meetings; if other board positions are vacant; take on additional roles as needed.
