CIC Nipissing District: Canada on the United Nations Security Council: Past, Present, and Future

What will it take for Canada to serve on the UN Security Council?  Dr. Chapnick will discuss Canada’s eight previous attempts to serve on the Council and our six terms as a non-permanent member, in order to make light of the current bid for a seat in 2021-22.

Speakers Biography:

Dr. Adam Chapnick is the deputy director of education at the Canadian Forces College and a professor of Defence Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada. He is the author or editor of eight books, including Canada on the UN Security Council: A Small Power on a Large Stage (UBC Press, 2019).

This talk is open to the general public. Seating is limited.

Admission fee: $5 for students and seniors, $10 for CIC members, $12 for non-CIC members.
Admission fee will be accepted at the door as well.
