CIC-Saskatoon: Global Connections – Edward Agbai on “Building Bridges for Global Collaboration”
International development – and nachos. Come join us at Global Connections – a no-commitment gathering where we meet up with old friends and new, and where we celebrate a group that is contributing to making the world a better place through the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs). This series is the brainchild of the Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation (SCIC), whose funding makes this event possible,
This month’s session features Edward Agbai from the Prairies Africa Partnership in a session entitled “Building Bridges for Global Collaboration”.
The Canadian Prairies and Africa each hold unique strengths – Fertile lands, Rich cultures, Entrepreneurial spirit, and a shared commitment to progress. However, these potentials remain largely untapped due to lack of collaboration. With a strong African diaspora presence in the Prairies, how can the Prairies use these advantages in the response to the tariff south of the border?
Hosted in the historic back room of Amigos Cantina, the Global Connections format of “networking (& nachos), presentation, and more networking (and nachos)” has attracted a committed audience in the area, and has provided a safe window on the world to a lot of people new to Saskatoon – or new to many of these international topics. Committed and high-energy workers from a number of the groups under the SCIC umbrella will be in attendance, so it’s a great setting for information sharing.
Come on by at 5 pm and witness the magic for yourself. Looking forward to celebrating with everybody!
