Hiring Notice: Editor-in-Chief
The Canadian International Council is looking for an editor-in-chief on an initial one-year contract to manage the digital content of the CIC’s ‘Open Canada’, an online site and regular newsletter.
The Editor will work approximately forty hours per week, mostly from home.
The successful applicant will be creative, resourceful, innovate thinker who will bring a fresh approach to foreign affairs. The Editor-in-Chief will commission submissions from academics, policy experts, journalists and others from a wide spectrum of Canadian society and work with contributions from the CIC’s six fellows. An essential part of the job will be to create a two-way conversation with readers so that readers will want to become engaged in influencing foreign policy and international affairs.
A degree in journalism would be desirable as would knowledge of foreign affairs and French but the key asset will be to approach the job in a way that makes the publication a groundbreaking voice for analysis and change.
