We’re pleased to announce that the upcoming Couchiching Conference will host the official launch of Chrétien and the World: Canadian Foreign Policy from 1993 to 2003, a new title from UBC Press edited by Jack Cunningham and John Meehan.

The launch will take place during the conference on Tuesday September 30th at 4:00pm ET and will feature a special presentation exploring the book’s key themes and insights. The event will be part of the Couchiching Conference and will take place in the beautiful Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Ontario. Guests will have an opportunity to purchase copies of the book during a private reception following the presentation.

Chrétien and the World provides a comprehensive assessment of Canada’s foreign policy under Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, a decade marked by dramatic global change. The book brings together contributions from leading scholars and former policymakers to examine the Chrétien government’s approach to international relations, including its response to the 9/11 attacks, the Iraq War, and humanitarian crises around the globe. The book is part of the The C.D. Howe Series in Canadian Political History.

This launch is part of our continued effort at Couchiching to bring thoughtful dialogue and scholarship into public life. With its sharp analysis and timely reflections, Chrétien and the World invites us to consider Canada’s global role at a moment when foreign policy is once again at the forefront of national conversation.
