Welcome to the CIC Hamilton Branch. The Canadian International Council (CIC) is an independent, member-based council established to strengthen Canada’s role in global affairs with 19 nation-wide branches.
CIC Hamilton aims to bring Hamilton and Hamiltonians closer to the World, and the World closer to Hamilton. We focus on opportunities for discussion, debate and learning, community collaboration, mentorship, publishing and career development, and support for a range of diverse voices in international affairs.
As a branch that is rebuilding its profile, we are especially eager to welcome new members and executive volunteers, explore ideas for events, programs and collaborations in our community, and make new connections. Please feel free to reach out!
The Hamilton Branch of the CIC acknowledges that we undertake our activities upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek, and the Between the Lakes Purchase between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
As an organization dedicated to enriching Canadians’ engagement with the world, we commit to ever deepen our understanding of and participation in truth and reconciliation and seek to reflect local and international indigenous perspectives in our programming and policies.
