Gordon Longmuir HeadshotGordon Longmuir had a brief Naval career before completing studies at UBC.  In his subsequent career in External Affairs (DEATC/DFAIT, etc.) he served in Vietnam, Japan (twice); South Korea and Thailand.  From 1991-95, Mr. Longmuir was Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi, India, and, from 1995-99, Ambassador of Canada to Cambodia.  In Ottawa, he served, inter alia, as Director for the Central America and Caribbean Relations Division.  

Gordon is an Honorary Research Associate at the Institute of Asian Research at UBC and Associate of the Centre for Asia Pacific Initiatives at the University of Victoria and is a Member-at-large of the Executive Committee of the Vancouver Branch of CIC.

Mr. Longmuir is married to the painter Kazuko Honjo and has a son and a daughter.
